Earn Respect

Respect is build upon
Hard work and struggles
To prove oneself worthy
To be treated with honor
And most of all it’s earned
Through your character
Not through force or fear
Or by use of power to crush
Others for that is not respect
That people have for you in
Their silenced voices and
Tied hands but avoidance of
Pain and humiliation you throw
In their way to make them
Fall so as to feel better about
The person who you are but
Don’t forget today may not
Be their day but the people
Will rise and karma will do
The due you carry around so
Be weary and learn to treat
All equally with compassion
Life has a way of balancing
The wrong deeds you do
So learn before you falter

      1. I’ve been fine Barrira, thank you. I hope you are well too? I know how you feel. I love every reader that comes to my blog, and some I’ve discovered who don’t. But I also love writing, and there is only so many hours in a day, and then there is work, which pays the bills. I want to read and comment on all the blogs of writers who come and read mine, but it can get more than a little daunting. And somehow, just pressing the like button on a blog post of theirs seems inadequate without offering a comment on what you thought of their post, but time is the great enemy, especially if you are fortunate enough to have a healthy following. So I do understand and not to worry. :O)

      2. I’m alright Paul, I’m missing out on so much here and I tell myself everyday I’ll be here and make time but I end up not being able to 😦 and you’re right, a “like” lacks the real feel but I shall drop by soon, time is near. I can tell xD
