On this stage full of actors
Each trying to outsmart the
Another by playing their
Parts with eased perfection
Under masks of murky
Gray characters that cloud
Over your view of the world
Making it appear as dark as
The white painted hospital
Walls and as dull as the beep
Of the heart wanting to sleep
People disappoint you in
Ways that make you wonder
Make you question yourself
How deceiving and deep those
Layers of skin were wrapped
Around their faces that you
Couldn’t tell real from fake
Ones, wishing to tear off the
Intimate cocoons they hide in
Peel of one plastic layer after
Another till the backstabbers
Knives can be seen and the
Lies can be put on display
For the world to know the
Ugliness people hide behind
The perfectly crafted smiles
Unfortunately very true

They’re not plastic, nor skin…..they’re adamantium, just as hard and just as fake.

Hello, B. Only a matter of having a usually simple job go a bit sour. Things are caught up for now. Thank you , dear for noticing! 😀

The world is full of people lacking empathy and moral character. Someone once said that you can count your true friends on one hand. Not a multitude perhaps, but at least you’ll be able to keep track of them. :O)

So true. The closer the person is to you, the more you are disappointed. And if it is family, the disappointment & hurt live with you forever.. the unfortunate truth.

The closer people to us, the more we build expectations from them. Sometimes, the cost is too high for that..

It’s miserable how fake people could be — disappointing but the truth. Thank you for this much-needed post.

It’s hectic and tiring at most days, juggling like a monkey who is carrying too many balls but can’t let them fall for an audience is watching to either laugh or applause xD
I’m alright 🙂
