Allergic to E Challenge

Hey people!

So I was nominated by Kri (my lovely <3) and Riverdust (A sweetheart <3) to the ‘Allergic to E challenge’ , I have missed both 24 hours deadlines given by the amazing ladies and I apologize for that, not only have I missed them by a day or two, perhaps been over a week now. My apologies again, my work schedule and the summer heat are literally killing ( We hit a record highest temperature of 45 degrees yesterday). Doesn’t leaves any energy to do anything, anyhow before any more delays I still want to do this challenge, I hope it’s okay 🙂

Here are the rules of the challenge:

  1. Write a whole paragraph (a paragraph sounds easy right?) without any word containing the letter “e” (still easy for ya?)
  2. By reading this you are already signed up.
  3. Challenge at least five bloggers to do the challenge. They must do it within 24 hours or it is considered as failure.
  4. If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.
  5. If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.

Drifting Away

My mind has a will of its own; it drifts to random locations on random days without informing first. So I sat down with a blank canvas today to draw out my mind as I thought it was but as I sat on my wobbly chair, I couldn’t think of any solitary visual to draw on my canvas apart from pitch black void dancing across it. Hands shook and world swam in a blur of chaos and I lost my mind in this oncoming storm.

Here are my nominations:

1. Dan (Yeah, I love you xD)
2. Naima
3. Ayushi
4. Yoshiko
5. Sulagno

Note: I know the above stated paragraph makes no sense but I shall blame it on the heat and goodluck to the nominations ^_^

No answers

3rd day – 3rd quote

“I feel unspeakably lonely. And I feel – drained. It is a blank state of mind and soul I cannot describe to you as I think it would not make any difference. Also it is a very private feeling I have – that of melting into a perpetual nervous breakdown. I am often questioning myself what I further want to do, who I further wish to be; which parts of me, exactly, are still functioning properly. No answers, darling. At all.”
Anne Sexton, Anne Sexton: A Self-Portrait in Letters

In continuation of the “3 day quotes challenge” (please refer to the link for yesterday’s post), today I have shared a quote by another literary gem, a person favourite yet again; Anne Sexton. Her works speaks for itself, I need not to say anything about the above quoted words or the lady.

Keep Evolving!

2nd Day – 2nd Quote

“ Read widely of others experiences in thought and action- stretch to others even though it hurts to and strains and would be more comfortable to snuggle back in the comforting cotton-wool of blissful ignorance! Hurl yourself at goals above your head and bear the lacerations that come when you slip and make a fool of yourself. Try always, as long as you have breath in your body, to take the hard way, the Spartan way- and work, work, work to build yourself into a rich, continually evolving entity!”
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

Charles said it!

1st Day – 1st Quote

The problem was you had to keep choosing between one evil or another, and no matter what you chose, they sliced a little bit more off you, until there was nothing left. At the age of 25 most people were finished. A whole god-damned nation of assholes driving automobiles, eating, having babies, doing everything in the worst way possible, like voting for the presidential candidates who reminded them most of themselves. I had no interests. I had no interest in anything. I had no idea how I was going to escape. At least the others had some taste for life. They seemed to understand something that I didn’t understand. Maybe I was lacking. It was possible. I often felt inferior. I just wanted to get away from them. But there was no place to go.
― Charles Bukowski

The above quote is in response to the “3 day quotes challenge” for which I was nominated by two absolutely lovely people; Kri and Steph, thank-you guys, I’m honored and humbled by the challenge, especially since reading and quotes collection is among my personal favourite things to do.

I won’t explain as to why I chose this quote but let’s just say, the quote comes very close to the most closed spaces we all hide within us.

The free writing challenge – II

The honor of writing few words again was bestowed upon me by none other than Prateek (He is among my rare favourites here xD). Please refer to my previous post for the rules.

My word this time: Ink

Her hands trembled but didn’t stop, the ink filled pages after pages. She wrote like her life depended on it, a sob escaped her lips but she quickly wiped her tears and shook her head to concentrate on the task before her. She had to put out her thoughts, the words that echoed in her head like a storm, mocking her.

Her finger were stained in ink, the pages wet with her tears and the words on them messed up like some design which made no sense, a hysterical laugh and she winched ‘just like my life’ was the thought that went through her head. She wanted answers, she wanted them now. Who was that woman who insisted she was her real mom and the one who she lived with? Who was she?  She had spent her entire life wishing to die, for she couldn’t be ever good enough for her mother, no matter what she did and all she desired was her approval that never happened, not even the slightest pat on the back.

…and today? The woman who showed up on the door, how could she claim to be her real mother and not the one who she lived with.  Why did she leave her ? Did she also despise her? Was it because she was  disabled, she winced as the voices of school children making fun of her, came back to her. ‘Maybe, I embarrassed my mom too, so she left me with someone else.’

Her hands didn’t stop, they kept shaking but the voices were so loud in her head that she had to pour them out until she ran out of ink, just like she was running out of life with every passing moment, she could feel her soul fading and nobody seemed to care, not like anybody ever noticed her.

Shaking her head once more ‘I must complete my story’, with a new resolve she gripped the pen hard and concentrated on making sure the ink left permanent marks.

My word: Reflection

He let out of a sigh as his mind wandered off in that one direction he always wished it wouldn’t. The thoughts of her, always painful yet the most difficult to let go. He knew what he done was wrong, that he had been a coward but he couldn’t bring himself to face her. He remembered how her eyes had brimmed with tears and she had looked confused and lost as he had viciously lashed out at her, blaming her for his failures in life.

“Distraction”, that’s what he had called her, pointing out how her being part of his life kept him from his goals and how he wished she would disappear. As he reflected upon his behavior, he felt more and more weighed down under her pained expression etched across his mind like a vivid memory refusing to go away.

She had quietly walked away, without say a word to him, just wishing him the best of luck with his life and that all she wanted was his happiness and if her being around was being an obstacle to him in anyway, she promised to disappear forever.

It had been a month and he hadn’t heard from her a word from her but in this time he had realized one thing, her importance to him. He kept thinking about her, her laughter and how she was the support system for him in every possible way, when everyone gave up; she stood by him and cheered.

He signed deeply and regretfully, knowing he needed her more than he ever knew and after a little more reflection on his actions, he made up his mind to leave no stone un-turned in finding her.
