Happiness in a Tea Cup

Happiness resides in a tea cup
Simmering and boiling with warmth
An aroma that relaxes your senses
Taking away your stress of the day
The smile the first sip brings as
Your lips are tantalized with the
Taste of the heaven and you can only
Fall deeper in love with this magical
Creation as it takes you to a calmer
Place which removes all worries
From your mind making you feel
Lighter and hopeful about this world
Reminding you that there will be a
Tomorrow and it’s okay to breathe
It wraps you up in comfort of its
Familiarity like coming back home
After losing way in chaos of world

Games of Nature

Do you hear the world singing
The trees swaying to the tune
And the waves rhythmically
Crash against the rocks calling
To anyone who will listen to
Their symphony they play softly
As the birds chirp along adding
Ornaments to the pink cotton
Candies that spread to infinity
Above us in layers of stillness
Playing hide and seek with the
Sun that burns in anger when
The sky refuses to give it the
Rightful place it demands for
While the rain sneaks in and
Surprises them both taking over
The sky shading it in various
Grays till it start pouring on the
Ground dazzling the beings with
Its power it exudes with every
Drop that touches the ground
And delightfully I extend my hand
To feel the rain cooling my skin
Thinking about the games nature
Plays each day for its audience

A place called home

There is a restless feeling under my skin
An itch that makes me want to claw till
I bleed raw and find what’s hiding within
A void I walk around with pulling me down
With its weight and hollowness that gnaws
In search of peace I have traveled worlds
A place I could call home to be myself
Where I could read and scribble freely
A sanctuary that blankets me in its arms
Letting me ramble on eccentric issues
That warmth which would make me smile
And forget the burdens of the world not
Just a roof to live under but a heart that
Will reach out and pick mine apart rightly
Enough strength to share the weight of
The world to succeed and survive madness
But between chattering crowds and houses
The emptiness inside grows as I fail to
Find what could be my “Querencia

Note: Querencia is a place from which one’s strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you’re your most authentic self.

If I could

If I could I would travel from
One book to another and watch
My favourite stories unfold in
Front of my eyes while I get drunk
On the enchanting scent of words
I would spend nights hiding in the
Most interesting chapters and observe
In delight how the characters coped
With changes and unexpected events
Of their life hoping to learn the same
I’ll pick magical words and weave
Dreams that I’ll wear before sleeping
So I’d know what it feels to wake up
With a smile and giggle with delight
I’ll crawl between paragraphs curling
Into a ball so I could hide from the world
I would sleep between blanket of words
Spilled on a pages protected from all
Harms and heart breaks that humans
So viciously cause in name of humanity
I’ll dissolve my very essence in to the
Half erased pages till I can find home

Gluttony

Belching on the dinner table
his mother’s words rang in his head
“Frank, you’re an embarrassment”
He slurped loudly
attempting to drown his dead mother’s voice
she didn’t understand
nobody did, he cursed
gobbled the luscious strawberries
as fresh as the dew on the trees outside
he was a slave to his tongue
perfidious little thing it was
never satisfied
he licked his lips in disgust and savored
the slight taste of berries
still lingering
his tongue tasted of the worlds
colorful little thing it was
he reached for more that delectable wine
He couldn’t stop, he wouldn’t stop
He growled and snarled at the world
This was his ‘home’
whole and animalistic
