Spread Happiness

A little smile on your face
Can make someone’s day
So cheer up for life is full
Of bumps and turns along
The twisted road you walk

Your words of hope are like
Rain on a barren land so
Write for they create happy
Rainbows in hearts of those
who hold you dear in life

Your twinkling eyes as a
Child does a magic trick
On the road corner turn
His bleak day a little brighter
So slow down it’s worth it

Your surprise gift to your
Mother on a random day
Made her smile through
Her pain as she lay in bed
So sit and share stories

Your invitation to a friend
Over a cup of tea after
Months saved your childhood
Friendship that was slipping
So laugh honestly and freely

Your world seems lighter
As you try to reach out
Realizing you had pulled
Away and they were waiting
For their happiness is you

In a Parallel World

I see us standing
Side by side happily
Laughing at some joke
In a parallel world

I see us talking
To each other openly
Resolving our issues
In a parallel world

I see us buying
Books together just
Because I loved reading
In a parallel world

I see us arguing
About your busy life
And you making up
In a parallel world

I see you reading
My words and reaching
Out for my hand subtly
In a parallel world

I see us planning
Our life together
In whispers of night
In a parallel world

I see us fading
As the strong winds
Bring me back to this
World, there is no us

Waking up

He watched her innocent face
Lovingly under the warm glow
Of the bed side lamp as she
Slept peacefully like a child
And a small smile formed on
His lips as she tried to brush
Away a hair strand in sleep
That kept disturbing her happy
Dreams of rainbows and love
He traced his fingers on her
Face lightly to not awake her
Feeling the smoothness of her
Skin against his rough hands
He knew every freckle to every
Curve her face delicately held
He hummed to himself as he
Continued to explore her skin
The fingers traveled to the neck
He could feel her life beating so
Softly and in a perfect rhythm
Like it was dancing to a tune
He stopped to look up at her as
She stirred under his big hands
Playfully, knowing he was waking
Her up like he did every morning
Reminding her of real happiness

Together

Invincible you thought seeing them
Together they stayed like two forces
Gravitating towards each other as if
Tied together by an invisible spell
Movements synced with each other
Perfection you envied to have as theirs
Absolutely aware of the presence of
One and another they connect even
In the biggest of the crowds around
His eyes would always find her
She would always calm his heart
They were light in pitch darkness
Never giving up on another one
You could only wish to have this love
Surreal like the air carrying secrets
And orange sun-rays before dawn
Untouchable by the tainted humans
It’s them versus the world in a battle
They win with such ease that you
Wince in envy and awe but they are
Unaffected moving on victoriously
Living their lives as you watch with
Wishful heart and pained soul

Closure

She knows it’s time to let go
Her mind tells her to cut off
The memories she holds so
Dear to herself like oxygen
As they become toxic spreading
Darkness inside her in every
Corner of her being eating away
Who she was once, herself
Now every time she looks in
The mirror an empty gaze seem
To drill through her head as
If trying to jolt the person to life
She sighs and looks around
Maybe the questions she wanted
Him to answer were to be buried
With the memories she held close
He was happy and that was all
She needed to know and in that
Happiness she would have to find
Peace for herself, it was never about
What she wanted from life but
Knowing that he had found home
So she smiles through tears of a
Heart she no longer feels beating
And sits down to pull out threads of
their memories they built together
Cutting off the cords wincing in
Pain as her hands shook with each
String thrown away creating voids

Woman you can’t love

I’m the woman you can’t control
The one who challenges you
Shake you up when you’re down
The one who looks you in the eye
Questions you when you lose way
And the one you come to hate as
I won’t let you settle unless I know
You have given your very best to it
And so I will make a man out of the
Boy you are today pushing you to
Ensure you get best of the world
While you find it difficult to keep up
With me since I disturb the very
Core you have built for yourself but
You will learn to take responsibility
I’m the woman you learn to respect
Not the one you buy flowers for or
The one you have to look out for
Someone you will blindly rely on
But I’m the woman you can’t love

I write

I write about you so
I can keep you alive
In my world to keep
The memories stored
That are slipping away
Slowly and gradually
The guilt eats me within
How could I forget what
I thought I couldn’t live
Without even for a day
But I’m learning to let go
For I see your happiness
And success in moving on
I read stories about how
Famous you are now
Have you found the one
Was my silence that heavy
Were my words too deep
I wonder still what my sin
Was that made you run
Away leaving me abandoned
With not even a word of
Explanation but I hope
You’re happy cause that’s
What matters most

What nightmares were made of

Part II of II

She was the calm before the storm
The ominous waves of destruction
The smoke filling up your lungs
Spreading and scarring your body
The hundred year old pale walls
With their paint chipping off and
Crumbling walls holding promises
Her voice reminds you of pain
Loaded on her tongue making you
Wince and step away in disgust
Her eyes seem to be filled with
Stories of regret and bruises you
Don’t want to waste your time on
She is a bag full of past mistakes
She has swallowed more lies than
Papers you can fill in a lifetime
Torn and twisted as her life was
She made one unforgivable mistake
She chose to fall in love with him
Her undoing was his perfection
Her end was in his silence for how
Could she ever reach for the stars
She was what nightmares are made of

About Time

He walks over to her and smiles
She is busy scribbling away
He clears his throat and sits down
She looks up and smiles warmly

He holds her small hands in his
She seems startled by this act
He keeps looking at her quietly
She blushes under his intense gaze

He hopes she would understand
She had always been good at this
He was always short of words
She always had enough for them

He opens his mouth to speak up
She puts her hand on his mouth
He looks at her questioningly
She shakes her head in a ‘no’

He wonders what that means
She beams and leans forward
He sharply exhales surprised
She was always a step ahead

He gently seals their moment
She had been his best friend
He whispers softly “I love you
She grins “About time, you idiot*

Their Last Time

His eyes follow her every movement
As she dances with the other man
Licking his lips as her taste still lingers
I’m leaving a part of myself with you
Her last words to him after he ripped
Apart her heart by throwing her out
She was a distraction he couldn’t afford
That is exactly what he had told her
Her eyes had looked painfully hollow
Pleading to him silently to take her back
But unmoved he had closed the doors
He grimaces trying to clear his head
Wanting to ignore the voices in his head
‘You will never find another one like her’
His eyes flash in anger as the man pulls
Her closer and she twirls around with ease
The man leans closer to her and whispers
Her laughter reminds him of wind chimes
He curses under his breathe unable to
Stand the sight of her in arms of someone
He walks away slamming the door behind
You need her‘ another voice points out
A low whimper escapes his lips and
He covers his face in his hands silently
Begging his gods to help him but even
The gods seemed unhappy with him for
All the air held tonight was a silence
Unforgiving buried in her pained sobs
