It’s in the Wind

As I step out of the dreary
Building filled only with
Mechanized voices and
Hollow laughter of people
The outside air feels so
Fresh like a weight lifted
Off my chest and I could
Breathe openly, absorbing
the surrounding to realize
The wind carrying patrichor
I look around and a smile
Spreads on my face noticing
The slightly wet floor and
Breathtaking garden glistening
Under umbrella of water
Droplets like decorations
On my favorite Christmas tree
I inhale deeply letting the air
Fill my lungs like silent
Hope making its way to
Brighten the gloomy day
It carries peace in its waves
Subtly relaxing the spirit
Like watching a sunset after
A long tiring day at work
The birds sing songs perched
On trees creating music
And it feels that the chilly
Wind is dancing to the tune
As I hum along with them
The heart peacefully beats
Happiness is in the wind

Keep Evolving!

2nd Day – 2nd Quote

“ Read widely of others experiences in thought and action- stretch to others even though it hurts to and strains and would be more comfortable to snuggle back in the comforting cotton-wool of blissful ignorance! Hurl yourself at goals above your head and bear the lacerations that come when you slip and make a fool of yourself. Try always, as long as you have breath in your body, to take the hard way, the Spartan way- and work, work, work to build yourself into a rich, continually evolving entity!”
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

In continuation of the “3 day quotes challenge” (please refer to the link for yesterday’s post), today I have shared a quote by another one of my favourite authors’; Sylvia Plath, the woman is an amazing writer, her words are magical and often times I can relate to them at an uncanny level.

Monday

Monday is like a bratty child
Who does everything to ruin
Your day in every possible way
It’s like the blazing sun causing
Heat strokes to get some action
The 4’o clock thoughts that you
Wish you could erase forever
It’s a reminder that some bad
Things will always stay with you
Making you want to sleep a few
Extra hours before you are to
Be dragged out of your comfort
The feeling when your older
Sibling steals away your last
Chocolate bar and laughs at you
Tastes like food that makes you
Cringe because of too much salt
As charming as the people who
Chat non stop before I have my
Morning cup of tea with extra milk
As pleasant as the high pitched
Laughter of people who make the
Walls around you rattle like coins
But it’s also the reason I’m writing
This while on my way to work
Which makes it not so bad I guess

Note: Yes! I’m sulking, my Monday sucked to hell and back meh (I wrote this around twelve hours ago)

Perpetual Time

Waking up each morning
Feeling the same dread
Spreading and taking up
All empty spaces that
Reside under the bones
And with a heavy heart
Making my way to work
Wondering and praying
Silently that it would be
The last of my days there
But alas my mind knows
Better than to let my
Heart dwindle on its own
So it warns me to stop
Cutting off the voices and
Wishes that beat inside
Cringing mentally I go on
As I do each day with
Questions and self doubts
Ripping up my walls on
The inside of my soul
That one voice echoing
You will never escape
Weighs down on me like
A steel wall collapsing
My lungs to choke me
I manage a plastic smile
And survive the world
But as I make it back home
Fatigue overpowers my
Strength and shackles me
In its dark grey chains
Reminding me that this
Has not ended yet
Tomorrow will be just
Another day trapped in
This constant struggle of
Becoming a someone
Today is no different from
Yesterday or day before
In my world this endless
Abyss is my “perpetual time”
